You’re close to finishing that first draft of a book, a collection, or a hybrid project — now what?
We Write Books is a three-month online workshop and support space to help you stay close to your project, keep the momentum alive, and continue shaping your draft into a dynamic manuscript.
This group is open to anyone working on a book project. Whether you’ve just finished the 30 Days of Writing course, or you’re seeking a creative community to accompany you through the next stage of your project, you’re welcome here.
Together we’ll focus on:
- Returning to your draft with fresh eyes
- Finding the heart of your project and strengthening its voice
- Exploring structure, tone, and movement
- Sustaining your energy and creative practice
What’s included:
The Momentum Option:
- Monthly group workshop (2 hrs, Zoom): A mix of guided exercises, discussion, and sharing work.
- October: Re-entering the Draft
- November: Deepening the Work
- December: Towards a Robust Manuscript
- Monthly one-to-one (45 min): Personalised mentoring and feedback on your work-in-progress (5,000 words per month)
- Writing prompts: Short monthly suggestions to keep you experimenting
- Community: A private course blog to share writing
The Deep Dive Option
Everything in the Momentum option, along with:
- A close edit of 15,000 words of your manuscript, focusing on style and the relationship between form and subject matter, as well as the work's structure as a whole
- Written feedback and notes ahead of each one-to-one to give shape to the conversation
The group balances mentorship and conversation — a space for focused input, while also sharing in the collective energy of fellow writers.

The We Write Books workshop is a bridge between the drafting process and the next stage of revision and publication. It’s about keeping your creative momentum alive, returning to the joy of the work itself, and staying connected to a community of writers.
About the tutor: Shaun Levin is the author of Seven Sweet Things (“In every chapter there is a moment to take your breath away,” Time Out London), Alone with a Man in a Room, and Snapshots of The Boy. His work, often exploring intimacy, transformation, and the joy of language, has been translated into French, staged internationally, and anthologised alongside Nadine Gordimer, Ali Smith, and Edmund White. He is the recipient of the Arts Council Writer’s Award and the Moment Karma Fiction Award, and has held fellowships at Hawthornden Castle, Fundación Valparaíso, and the Tasmanian Writers Centre. He founded the literary magazine Chroma and the independent presses Treehouse Press and The A3 Press, and has taught creative writing for over twenty years.
